Snow A Possibility For Portions Of North Carolina
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - An upper-level disturbance expected to track through the Carolinas is raising the possibility for snow across the region.
The National Weather Service forecasts that the system will develop over North and South Carolina Saturday afternoon as low pressure begins to intensify off the coast. Precipitation is expected to begin as rain before a changeover to snow at night.
Forecasters say the amount of snow over central North Carolina will depend on the track of the storm, which remains uncertain.
Rain will to change to snow Friday in the higher elevations of western North Carolina with snow showers likely on Saturday. Light accumulations are expected.
Up to an inch of snow is forecast for northeastern North Carolina. Very light snow is anticipated around the Charlotte area.
