Petitions Delivered To McCrory On Health Care Bill

RALEIGH, N.C. — Gov. Pat McCrory has more than 10,000 names of people who want him to veto a bill that would keep North Carolina from participating in parts of the federal health care overhaul.

Advocacy groups supporting the Affordable Care Act delivered petitions Friday to McCrory's office at the Capitol building.

People signing the petitions want him to block a measure that would say no to expanding Medicaid to more low-income people next year and leave an online health insurance exchange to the federal government.

McCrory has said he agrees with fellow Republican legislators. The House changed the Senate bill this week to satisfy his concerns. The Senate could send the bill to McCrory as soon as early next week.
