NC National Guard Resumed Training After Federal Shutdown
STEM, N.C. — The North Carolina National Guard conducted its first training sessions since the federal government shutdown.
Guard spokesman Capt. Richard Scoggins said that on Saturday nearly 8,000 soldiers and airmen did their first guard drills since last month's partial government shutdown.
The 505th Engineer Battalion did individual and crew served weapons' qualification training and held a change of command ceremony at Camp Butner National Guard Training Center in Stem.
