Post Storm: McCrory To Review Workplace, School Day Policies

RALEIGH, N.C. Gov. Pat McCrory says he'll review policies that penalize state employees for staying home during a storm even when top officials are advising people not to travel.

McCrory said at a news conference Friday that he'll review those polices along with one requiring students to have 185 classroom days. He says he'll meet with legal advisers, state school Superintendent June Atkinson and state school board chairman Bill Cobey about whether he can give school districts more flexibility about meeting that legal obligation.

This week's winter storm caused schools to be closed for as many as four days this week. These closures came on top of the ones from a winter storm last month.

McCrory says he's pleased that no one spent a night in their car.
