No One Injured By Shots Outside Vance County Courthouse

HENDERSON, N.C. (AP) -- Shots fired in a parking lot outside the Vance County Courthouse injured no one but sent police looking for the gunman.

Vance County Sheriff's Office Major J.R. Ferguson said there were shots fired Tuesday but no one was hurt. The gunfire broke out before noon.

Bianca Terry and two friends were standing outside the courthouse when they witnessed a fight between two men escalate into gunfire. Terry says she saw one man punch the other, who responded by pulling his gun and firing at least five or six shots.

A Henderson police spokesman did not return a message seeking information about who was being sought in the shooting.
