Advance Auto To Bring 600 Corporate Jobs In NC

RALEIGH, N.C. North Carolina officials say Advance Auto Parts will relocate some top managers and support jobs to Raleigh and employ 600 workers at a corporate support center by the end of 2017.

Gov. Pat McCrory's office said Wednesday the Roanoke, Virginia, based company could get more than $17 million in tax breaks over 12 years if it meets hiring and investment targets. The average salary for the jobs will be about $110,000 a year.

Advance Auto Parts in January completed its purchase of Raleigh-based General Parts International Inc., creating North America's largest auto aftermarket parts supplier.

Advance Auto Parts Chief Executive Officer Darren Jackson said Raleigh will join Roanoke as a major site for corporate operations.
