Workers To Rally At McDonald's In Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. Fast-food workers and community activists are holding a rally in Raleigh to support a minimum wage of $15 an hour and the right to join a union.

The rally will be held Friday at the McDonald's on South Street, days after the National Labor Relations Board said McDonald's could be named as a joint employer in several complaints regarding worker rights at franchise-owned restaurants.

The decision could mean McDonald's Corp. is liable for management practices in those locations. A McDonald's spokeswoman said this week the company has never been determined to be a joint employer in the past and that it would fight the labor board's decision.

The rally is part of a national effort supported by labor groups for pay of $15 an hour and the right to unionize..
