Bill Clinton Coming To NC For Hagan Fundraiser
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Former President Bill Clinton is slated to attend a fundraiser in North Carolina later this month for Sen. Kay Hagan's re-election bid.
Hagan's campaign said Thursday the ex-president will attend a luncheon event Sept. 30 in Chapel Hill. No other event details were released, although campaign spokeswoman Sadie Weiner says the first-term senator is honored that Clinton has offered to help with her campaign.
Hagan had a large campaign cash advantage over Republican challenger Thom Tillis entering July, although a wave of spending from outside groups has reduced that margin and its impact.
Clinton was elected president in 1992 and 1996 but failed to carry North Carolina on both occasions.
