Location: Plantation Point Shopping Center
Plantation Point Shopping Center will host an Independence Day weekend event on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010 from 3-6 PM. Enter your dog in the Stars and Stripes Cover Dog Search, where if chosen, they will be featured in the Raleigh News and Observer. There will also be a National Anthem Singing Contest. The winner will be invited to sing live, on the air on WKNC. Judges will include Mrs. North Carolina and Miss Cabbarus County. This event will also feature local food, live entertainment, raffle, and silent auction. All proceeds benefit the Wake County Animal Shelter.

Join us Saturday morning for our traditional Independence Day Pancake Breakfast, prepared by the Morrisville Fire Department. Breakfast will be served from 8-10am on Saturday, July 3rd, under the main picnic shelter at Morrisville Community Park. There will be music during breakfast. This is the perfect way to kick off your July 4th holiday! Limited tickets are available, and will be presold starting in June. Day-of tickets will be sold based on availability.  Kinston Annual 300' National Truck and Tractor Pull  Friday 5PM, Saturday    (Community)
Location: Lenoir Country Fairgrounds- Kinston, NC
July 9th-10th, Kinston will hold its annual 300' National Tractor Pull featuring the Mason Smith Band from 5-7PM on Friday. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children. This event will have an antique tractor display, Flimsy the Clown, 50/50 drawing that will have numerous prizes and a cash prize at the end. There's something for everyone, so come early, bring the family and friends, and join us for some fun. The Tractor Pull starts at 7:30PM on both Friday and Saturday.

Michelle Matthews needs a lifesaving heart transplant. Volunteers are planning a golf tournament to help with her expenses. Saturday, July 17 at 8 a.m. at Quaker Creek Golf Course, 2817 Barnette Rd. in Mebane. Admission is $50 per person and includes lunch and refreshments.
