Democratic US Rep. Jeff Jackson is elected as North Carolina’s attorney general

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Rep. Jeff Jackson has been elected as North Carolina’s next attorney general. Jackson defeated Republican congressman Dan Bishop on Tuesday in an expensive campaign that focused on who was best able to represent the state in court and keep communities safe. Harris is promoting her resume and her goals rather than race as she courts Black voters

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris is courting Black voters without making her identity as a woman of color a central part of her pitch. The Democratic presidential nominee is focusing on her policies and resume to voters in an effort to engage them on issues they care most about. As she seeks to shore up support among Black voters, Harris spoke Saturday night at an awards dinner sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. This coming week, she’ll also conduct an interview with members of the National Association of Black Journalists and attend an online rally headlined by Oprah involving groups including “Win with Black Women.”… Continue Reading
