WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The man suspected in an apparent assassination attempt targeting former President Donald Trump camped outside a golf course with food and a rifle for nearly 12 hours before a Secret Service agent confronted him and opened fire. That’s according to court documents filed Monday. Ryan Wesley Routh, who is 58, faces charges of possessing a firearm despite a prior felony conviction and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number. KAAAWA, Hawaii (AP) — The man accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump at a Florida golf course Sunday wrote a book last year urging Iran to kill him. Ryan Wesley Routh was identified as the suspect by three people familiar with the case who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. His self-published book “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War” described the former president as a “buffoon” for both the 2021 Capitol riots and backing out of the Iran nuclear deal. Routh once visited Ukraine and his online footprint showed that he tried to recruit fighters for for Kyiv. (AP) — Former President Donald Trump is safe following what the FBI says “appears to be an attempted assassination” in Florida after another attempt on his life at a rally in Pennsylvania. Local authorities say the U.S. Secret Service agents protecting Trump fired at a man pointing an AK-style rifle with a scope as Trump was playing on his golf course in West Palm Beach. Trump was the subject of an apparent assassination attempt at his Florida golf club, the FBI says

WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI says it’s investigating “what appears to be an attempted assassination” of Donald Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. It comes just nine weeks after the Republican presidential nominee survived another attempt on his life. Trump says he’s safe and well. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says U.S. Secret Service agents fired at a man pointing an AK-style rifle with a scope into the club as Trump was on the course. Bradshaw says the gunman was about 400 yards to 500 yards away from Trump and hiding in shrubbery. He said the gunman had two backpacks hanging on a fence and a GoPro camera.… Continue Reading
