All injured in deadly North Carolina waterfront bar shooting released from the hospital

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (AP) — Six people hospitalized after a deadly shooting at a North Carolina coastal bar have all been released. Authorities initially said five people were injured in the Sept. 27 attack at the American Fish Company in Southport. But officials said Friday that a sixth person had admitted themself to a hospital. Shooting suspect Nigel Max Edge faces three counts of first-degree murder and other charges. Officer fatally shot in a North Carolina supermarket, suspect in custody, police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say a police officer has been fatally shot in a North Carolina supermarket and a suspect has been taken into custody. Police announced the officer’s death at a Monday afternoon news conference. They say the officer was responding to a call about an armed person when he was shot shortly before midday at a Food Lion store in Greensboro. Man charged in North Carolina highway shootings will remain in jail for now

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Police say a man accused of firing at occupied cars around North Carolina’s capital city has been charged with assault. Raleigh police said Friday morning that the 23-year-old suspect was also charged with 11 counts of firing a weapon into an occupied vehicle or dwelling. A second person who was detained at the time of his arrest has been released without any charges. The case began to get attention after several people reported gunfire on Interstate 40 in Raleigh and suburban Cary around the Wednesday morning rush hour.
