DURHAM, N.C. (WPTF) – Motorists are being advised about lane closures on Interstate 85 through Durham starting this weekend.
Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close lanes on Interstate 85 for bridge rehabilitation.
This Sunday, the left three left lanes of I-85 North at Exit 175 (N.C. 157/ Guess Road) will close. The closures will be in place each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, and will continue through March 22.
During this time, the other three northbound lanes will remain open, but officials expect a high impact on traffic throughout the corridor.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes when traveling through the area. Motorists should also reduce speed and remain alert for construction crews and changing traffic patterns.
WPTF provides traffic reports from the Johnson Hyundai Traffic Center weekdays during the WPTF Morning, Afternoon and Evening News on the eights. Traffic bulletins at once.
