DURHAM, N.C. (WPTF) – There’s a new development in the Durham Police investigation into a homicide on the American Tobacco Trail.
Durham Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 46-year-old Durham man in connection with a homicide that occurred on March 9.
LaRue Barbee is wanted and has been charged with First-Degree Homicide in the death of Chesleigh Eloyd Lyons.
Police say the incident was not random.
The stabbing that occurred on the American Tobacco Trail near the intersection of Fayetteville Street and Pilot Street Monday (March 9).
Officers responded to a report of a person stabbed behind the building near Fayetteville Street and Pilot Street shortly after 4 p.m. When they arrived, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
