RALEIGH, N.C. (WPTF) – The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop Sunday morning (May 24)
According to a press release around 10:30 a.m., a deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Poole Road near Barwell Road and attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. The driver did not stop, and a pursuit followed on Poole Road to Misty River Drive, where the suspect, an adult male, crashed into an uninvolved vehicle.
Following the crash, the suspect stole a second uninvolved vehicle and drove away. The vehicle has since been recovered.
No serious injuries have been reported.
Deputies continue to actively search for the suspect, and charges are pending.
The suspect is a Black male, approximately 5’7”, 260 lbs, with brown eyes, with dreadlocks or braided hair, wearing a white shirt, black pants, no shoes, and black socks.
