SANFORD, N.C. (WPTF) – Two people are now facing drugs and weapons charges after being caught with three children in a car.
According to a social media post, on Tuesday (April 14), Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Agents conducted a traffic stop on Hawkins Avenue while investigating a recent citizen drug complaint on Deep River Road.
During the traffic stop, Agents located Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm in possession of a felon. Three children were inside the vehicle during the traffic stop. Both occupants of the vehicle also had outstanding warrants for arrest out of Chatham County for larceny.

The driver, Zachary Robert Shaw, 41, was arrested and charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon. Shaw was brought before a Lee County Magistrate who ordered he be held without bond.
The passenger, Lakayla Chasity Davis, 28, was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, three counts of Expose Child to Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possess Marijuana up to ½ Ounce.
Davis was brought before a Lee County Magistrate, who issued a $31,000 Secured Bond.
