DURHAM, N.C. (WPTF) – Mother’s Day lunch at a Durham restaurant was disrupted by gunfire.
A late morning shooting Sunday (May 10) at a Durham restaurant has left one person critically hurt and another facing charges.
Police were called to the Silver Spoon on North Roxboro Street around 11:30 amid reports of gunfire.
Two workers at the restaurant reportedly got into an argument and a third person who tried to intervene was shot by one of those workers.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to police who are continuing to investigate.
Samar Suliman Al-Mahmoud, 55, is now charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflict serious injury.
