SANFORD, N.C. (WPTF) – A Wayne County man mistakenly released from jail is back behind bars, after being apprehended in Lee County.

According to their Facebook page, on Thursday (June 4), Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Agents executed a search warrant at a Sanford residence to apprehend Jonathon Michael Jackson, 39, who had several outstanding warrants after being mistakenly released from the Wayne County Jail.
Agents located Jackson inside the home and took him into custody. During transport, Jackson attempted to remove a bag of methamphetamine from his person and conceal it inside a patrol vehicle.
While at the residence, deputies observed drugs, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, and firearm cases in plain view, leading to a second search warrant being executed at the home. Agents located and seized Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Mushrooms, Synthetic Marijuana, and two firearms, including one reported stolen. A minor child was also present in the residence.
Jackson was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance, two counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, two counts of Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Exposing Child to Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Dwelling for Sale of Controlled Substance, Possess with Intent to Sell and Distribute Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a school, and Possession of Stolen Firearm.
Jackson was brought before a Lee County Magistrate, who ordered he be held without bond
