SANFORD, N.C. (WPTF) – One person is in custody in connection with a drug and weapons investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s office.
According to a post on social media, on July 21, 2026, agents with the sheriff’s office narcotics division concluded an investigation by executing a search warrant at a residence located at 2401 Nob Hill Drive, Sanford.

As a result of the search, agents arrested Aden Grey Williams, 23, and seized approximately 17 pounds of marijuana, $17,396 in U.S. currency, one fully automatic rifle (equipped with an auto sear), and 44 additional firearms.
Williams was charged with the following offenses:
Trafficking in Marijuana
Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Marijuana
Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling, or Place for a Controlled Substance
Possession of a Machine Gun
Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
Williams was taken before a Lee County magistrate, who ordered that he be held without bond.
