GASTON, N.C (NCN News) – The search for a missing kayaker continued Sunday (May 17) on Roanoke Rapids Lake.
According to the Facebook page of Gaston Fire & Rescue, crews have been working to find the man reported missing Thursday after another person was rescued.
Efforts included drone operations, land and water searches, hull-mounted side scan sonar, towable sonar, underwater ROV, and cadaver K9 resources.
“We ask for continued prayers for the family during this difficult time, as well as for all responders who remain committed to the ongoing search,” the post read.
The investigation remains under the direction of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
A number of state and regional agencies are participating in the search.
