RALEIGH, N.C. (WPTF) — The Wake County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged a man in connection to a stabbing that sent one person to the hospital.
On Sunday (Sept. 26), deputies responded to Wake Med in Wendell in reference to a report of a stabbing that happened in the 8400 block of Cunningham Road in Zebulon.
The victim reported that the suspect threatened to shoot him before allegedly stabbing him. The victim then drove himself to the hospital.
After a thorough investigation, deputies arrested 24-year-old Darel Denton Jr. and charged him with one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and one count of assault by pointing a gun.
Denton Jr. is currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center without bond.
