DURHAM, N.C. (WPTF) – Two juveniles face charges as the Durham County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate an incident that occurred Tuesday (May 26) at Jordan High School on Garrett Road.
Around 2:30 p.m., a tip was received about a student who was in possession of a firearm on the school campus. As a result, the school was placed on lockdown and an investigation was conducted.
A firearm was located and juvenile petitions will be sought for two students on the charge of possession of a firearm on school property. Following a door-to-door search by Durham County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers and DCSO deputies, the lockdown was lifted at/around 4:00 p.m. as it was determined there was no further threat to the public.
