RALEIGH, N.C. (WPTF) – Raleigh police have made an arrest in connection with a bomb threat at a police station on the north side of the city.
Raleigh Police charged Christopher Carnes, 33, with two counts of Perpetrating a Hoax in or at a Public Building.
On Wednesday (June 10), at 10:38 am, officers responded to a call for a suspicious person in the 5200 block of Greens Dairy Road. The station is off Spring Forest Road and Capital Boulevard.
A male subject came to the police station. While being questioned, the man claimed that a pipe bomb was in his vehicle in the station parking lot.
After a thorough investigation from the Raleigh Police Hazardous Devices Unit, no hazardous devices were found in or around the subject’s vehicle.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
