CARY, N.C. (WPTF) –Cary police are investigating a Monday afternoon drowning (June 1). Around 1:30 p.m., Cary Police, along with the Cary Fire Department and Wake County EMS, responded to the 8000 block of Piney Branch Drive following a report of an individual in the water.
Upon arrival, responders located an adult female in a pond situated behind a residence. The individual was recovered from the water and is deceased.
The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
