RALEIGH, N.C. (WPTF) –- Raleigh police have identified the pedestrian in a wheelchair who was struck and killed early Thursday (June 4).
Around 2:45 am, police responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Glenwood Avenue at Hilburn Drive. The pedestrian has been identified as 41-year-old Matthew B. Robinson.
Preliminary Investigation indicates the driver of a gold 2018 Infiniti Q60 was traveling inbound on Glenwood Ave. before striking Mr. Robinson. He was in a wheelchair, stationary in the left lane of Glenwood Ave. He was 87 feet from the crosswalk in an unlit section of roadway and died at the scene.
The driver showed no signs of impairment. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
This crash remains under investigation.
