DURHAM, N.C. (WPTF) – One man is dead after trying to break up a fight between two juveniles. Durham police reports that a homicide occurred in the 1100 block of South Hoover Road Monday (June 8).
According to a police press release, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Durham Police officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound. At the scene, officers learned a juvenile male was in an argument with a female. When an adult male attempted to intervene in the situation, the juvenile shot the adult male before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later died.
This is the second shooting incident in less than 24 hours near the apartment complex on Hoover Road. A girl was shooting in the early hours of Monday morning.
Investigators are at the scene, determining the circumstances surrounding this incident.
